The City of Rochester DPW 2018 seasonal announcements
- The City of Rochester DPW has begun the 2018 curbside chipping program. The DPW currently covers the entire town on a weekly basis. Please place your branches on the easement between the sidewalk and the curb in an orderly fashion. We will accept branches up to 8" in diameter and there is no restriction on their length. As a reminder, if you have your branches placed to the curb by 7 a.m. on a Monday morning, they will be picked up that week. Please understand that once we pass through your neighborhood, the chipping crew will not come back through until the following week.
- Compost and Mulch is now available for City of Rochester residents. The compost and mulch is located outside of the DPW gates in large concrete bins, located north of the Jaycee ballfield and is available for pick up at anytime. The DPW will periodically replenish the stock throughout the season.
- Compost/Yard Waste Pick up from GFL, Inc. The city's trash hauler has begun the 2018 compost/yard waste pick up, included with your trash and recycling service. Please have everything out to the curb by 7am on your scheduled pick up day. Place all yard waste into the brown paper bags or containers that are clearly marked compost/yard waste on all sides. If you are placing twigs/branches at the curb for pick up by GFL, the length of the branches cannot be more than 4" and the bundles must be tied and secure.
