The Rochester Fire Department provides emergency medical care to citizens, businesses, and city visitors. The Fire Department is activated through the city's enhanced Emergency Dispatch Center. The Rochester Fire Department provides advanced life support and basic life support services. The City of Rochester has a mutual aid agreement in place with the cities of Rochester Hills, Auburn Hills, and Oakland Township to provide multi-city EMS response capabilities.

Customers have the option to pay their ambulance transport bill online. The City of Rochester has developed a simple and easy way for customers to pull up their account online and make a full or partial payment. Please visit the Ambulance Payments website to make a payment. There is a $8 convenience fee charged per transaction.
Rescue Teams and Special Operations
The Rochester Fire Department is a member of North Oakland Technical Rescue Squad 2 as well as the North Oakland Haz-Mat team. These specialized teams are activated for hazardous materials incidents, trench rescue, high and low angle rescue, confined space rescue, and structural firefighting rapid intervention, as well as other specialized rescue and firefighting operations.
