Douglas Gould was elected to Rochester City Council in November, 2021. Prior to joining City Council he served as the Chair of the City’s Compensation Committee, as a member of OPEB, as the secretary of the OPC Governing Board and as a longtime member of the Community Foundation of Rochester. He will continue to serve on OPEB, as a Council representative and will join the Principal Shopping District, Cemetery and Sister-City Boards.
Doug is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Foundational Medical Studies at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, where he has been since 2012. He did his undergraduate work at Michigan State University and earned his doctorate from Wayne State University in Anatomy and Cell Biology.
