Mark Albrecht has over 30 years of executive leadership positions in human resources and operations with retail, consumer packaged goods, and professional services companies including Lord & Taylor, Ann Taylor, Handleman Company, RGIS and Orlans. He currently serves as the Principal of MJA HR Consulting, a consulting practice focused on "Delivering people solutions that drive positive culture and bottom-line results."

He holds leadership positions on multiple non-profit boards including Walsh College Foundation Board, Detroit Historical Museum Board of Trustees, and the Rochester Avon Recreation Authority.  He previously served as the Chairman of the Downtown Development Authority for the city of Rochester, MI, Vice Chairman on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit, and the Michigan Roundtable for Diversity & Inclusion.

Mr. Albrecht was elected to a four-year term as a City Council Member for the City of Rochester in November 2019.

Mr. Albrecht is a graduate of Michigan State University with a dual degree in Human resources and Psychology.  He received his Master’s Degree in Strategic Leadership from Walsh College, where he was a member of Delta Mu Delta, an international Honor Society in Business. He also delivered the student address at the commencements in June 2011.

He is Lean Six Sigma white belt certified and was recognized as a Distinguished Volunteer by the city of Troy and received the Distinguished Volunteer award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals in 2018. He was recently recognized as the Walsh College Distinguished Graduate of the Last Decade in October 2021.

Mr. Albrecht is a frequent speaker and subject matter expert on human resource topics at various seminars and conferences including the annual Michigan HR Day.
