Separate bronze plaque with Seal of the Grand Army of the Republic and names of those who served 1861-1865. To earn money for the statue, the women gave dinners at $0.25 a meal and held baked goods sales. John Snook of the 22nd Michigan Infantry Regiment composed and read his poem, "Soldier's Monument" at the dedication.
