11/23/2022 - DiPonio (the project contractor) has temporarily filled in the cut outs on Helen Ave to make travel easier during the holiday. The contractor will be on site, Wednesday, November 30th, to perform permanent concrete work.

09/30/2022 - DiPonio (the project contractor) will continue with road work, including asphalt paving on Helen and Roselawn. Inconveniences can be expected, there will be time frames where roadway/driveway access will become restricted due asphalt paving. Traffic will be maintained for local traffic only, and access will be cleared accordingly at the end of the work day.

09/28/2022 -  Starting tomorrow, Helen Ave. will be closed at University and ramps will be removed for Saturday paving. The paving process will continue through Saturday, Monday and Tuesday. Closures through Roselawn and Fairview will continue to be closed throughout the process. Third and First Streets access will be maintained for Alice Ave. and school traffic. There will be no access on Helen on the blocked roads. St. John Lutheran Church will have access from University at select times.

09/22/2022 - It has been brought to the city’s attention that the post office has stopped delivering mail to some residents on Helen/Roselawn due to the current construction. It was communicated out earlier that temporary mail boxes would be delivered on site. However, due to supply chain issues, those were not able to be utilized. The post office has informed the city that they can only deliver mail when a “hard surface” is available to walk on. All sidewalks are scheduled to be completed by Wednesday of next week, allowing the post office to then continue their normal operations. In the meantime, we advise all residents to stop by your local post office to see if you have any mail waiting there for you. If you are unable to travel to the post office, please contact City Hall and we can try to accommodate you. The city apologizes for this inconvenience from the post office.

Inconveniences can be expected, there will be time frames where roadway/driveway access will become restricted due to underground utility installation. Traffic will be maintained for local traffic only, and access will be cleared accordingly at the end of the work day.

Though asphalt pavement has been installed on Fourth St, the road remains under construction, specifically due to the installation of concrete collars around the drainage structures.

06/17/2022 - On Helen Ave, the contractor will begin underground utilities, including water main installation. Inconveniences can be expected, there will be time frames where roadway/driveway access will become restricted due to the concrete preparation and water main installation. Traffic will be maintained for local traffic only, and access will be cleared accordingly at the end of the work day. Though asphalt pavement has been installed on Fourth St, the road remains under construction, specifically due to the removals, adjustments, and installation of concrete collars around the drainage structures. Fourth St will remain open to local traffic only, please use caution while driving around the barricaded work. 

06/10/2022 - On Helen Ave, the contractor will begin mobilizing throughout the week. Work on Helen will also include pavement milling, scheduled for Wednesday 6/15 weather permitting, and possible water main installation. Inconveniences can be expected, there will be time frames where roadway/driveway access will become restricted due to the concrete preparation and water main installation. Traffic will be maintained for local traffic only, and access will be cleared accordingly at the end of the work day.
